Each chair is hand finished with Emmet's "GoodStuff"® providing a durable finish that can be touched up with beeswax to increase the wood's luster.</p>

Body Salt &amp; Pepper Shakers Pair (Beige, Black) | Object

<p>Born and raised in São Paulo, Brazil to South Korean parents, Re Jin Lee now makes her ceramic pieces by hand in upstate New York, using a unique assembly of individually rolled out clay slabs and coils created by a 'hand and clay' collaboration inspired by the contemplative process of ceramics.</p>
<p> </p>
<p>"It’s fitting that pottery dates back to the beginning of our existence," she says. "Though I’m creating these large complicated sculptural pieces, I aspire to re-create the most basic, simplest, necessarily functional piece from the first time pottery was created." This sculpture is created from individually rolled out slabs, carefully slow dried to a bone-dry state, then finished with multiple layers of brushed-on slip on the surface, and glazed inside. An intricate assembly of shape and form, it is a dynamic silhouette with a strong sense of character. This is functional art—to be used as a side table or pedestal. </p>

The Oxbend Collection was born from a desire to create seating that is comfortable, organic, and elegant in its simplicity. This Oxbend bench incorporates subtle hand-shaped tubular curves and classic wedged-tenon leg joinery and a beautiful finger-jointed back rail. Whether used as seating in an office space or as an entryway bench or bedroom settee it seeks to complement your existing furniture. It is available in Walnut, White Ash or Charcoal Ash finishes.</p>

<p><strong>Collection Narrative</strong></p>
<p>&lt;span&gt;&lt;span lang="en-GB"&gt;Fold is a comment on memory, society, consumerism and a host of other massive topics. Dramatic silhouettes flow elegantly and effortlessly in a series of pieces that present creases, pleats, ruffles, and layered folds and explore the essences&lt;/span&gt;&lt;span lang="en-US"&gt; of texture and shape.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;</p>
<p>&lt;span&gt;Referencing the way drapery has been used by painters to convey movement since the Renaissance, particularly in the sketches of Leonardo da Vinci, Fold is fascinated by the way fabric is folded depending on the particularities of the human condition. Informed by a knowledge of art history, the collection narrates differences in a series of folds: a neat fold in the medieval Dutch portrait, a careless fold in that of a merchant sitting for a renaissance painter - these tell the story not just of a person's mood but also their historical moment.&lt;/span&gt;</p>
<p>&lt;span&gt;Combining with the history of painting, the collection also investigates the writings of Georges Perec's and his exploration and documentation of the everyday and "that which is generally not taken note of, that which is not noticed, that which has no importance". Referring back to Perec's work, household cloths, folded bedsheets and hair scrunchies are used as motifs throughout Fold - not only for their ability to capture qualities of form, light and atmosphere, but for their material and everyday presence.&lt;/span&gt;</p>
<p>&lt;span&gt;Fold uses a combination of materials including ceramics, pearls and precious stones - moving fluidly between the disciplines of jewellery and sculpture. The colours of the ceramics are rendered in green, blues and whites - bands of pure colour that recall the light and shadows in the vegetable garden of the designer's grandmother in Devon.&lt;/span&gt;</p>

The series, which is illuminated by LEDs, can be installed in multiples to create large installations of varying designs.
